Getting Ready

0 km

Tomorrow's the big day. We will leave the Bow Valley and head north where we plan on staying at a friend's farm North West of Edmonton. While we have all the tents and camping gear, we will have plenty of time to use them and won't say no to a bed!

Today was spent packing and repacking, figuring out the best configuration of cases and duffel bags on the bikes. Only one bike fell over and a lot of kit was declared unnecessary and put in a pile to stay home.

The day was interrupted only by the annual Stampede BBQ at the Canadian Museum of Making. The underground museum is truly fascinating and houses everything from African tribal tools to machinery from the Industrial Revolution and beyond.

Tomorrow marks the end of predictability and consistency when it comes to laundry, meals, schedule, and routine. With that, however, comes the beginning of adventure, unknown challenges, and unforgettable experiences.

To our friends and family: your support is greatly appreciated. We love you, miss you, and look forward to sharing the stories of highs and lows around the table next time we're home.

We hope to have pretty regular access to Internet during the trip so feel free to send us the odd email to check in between our (hopefully) regular updates to the blog and our various social media outlets.

Much Love!

Ben, Dom, Tym

Ben's luggage all fits ok, but getting him strapped in is a different story.

'Mary' the steam engine is kept in an underground layer and is set up to power old machinery as it would have done in an old factory.
